Well, as we mentioned back in August we are heading to the States in December. We should be arriving in the States on December 12th and everyone is super excited. Dad is most excited about the food, hunting and shooting guns. Mom is most excited to be having the baby in the States and not Africa. Elijah is most excited about seeing his friends. Lenaya is most excited about seeing her Grandma Kringen and DeeDee. Caroline doesn't have a clue who, what or where the States are.
One thing you can be praying about is our return to Senegal next Spring. We are planning to move back closer to the villages where I have been teaching. There are some other villages in the area that are also expressing interest so we really feel a need to be closer and more involved. That said, we don't feel it would be beneficial to move right back to where we were our first term for many reasons. So we are praying about where exactly would be best to locate.
We are trying to think outside the box here. We would like to be seen as missionaries to the entire Jalunga people group, so it may mean locating in a more central place and not directly in a village. We would also like to maintain our strategy of being involved in people's lives in practical ways. This helps with modelling the Christian life in ways they can relate to (this is the way that Jalunga seem to learn). Also this opens up doors where we can build meaningful Jalunga-style relationships (a complicated subject, but trust us here).
Thanks for standing behind us.
