Trip to Dakar

Elijah and I (Aaron) recently made a quick trip to Dakar for several reasons.  Here they are in no particular order:

• Help our fellow missionary make the drive.  Ken Satorius asked us to help if we were heading up anyway, and we only got stopped by the authorities once.
• To get some truck parts.
• To get our car back.  Some of you will remember that back in the spring (before we became faithful bloggers - though that is questionable still) we had an accident and our car was totaled.  But given the skill of body shop workers and mechanics we got it running again for much less than the price of the vehicle.  Thankfully we had a safe trip down this time.
• To get some more chickens (peeps).  We like having our little meat chickens up on the roof.  This will be our last batch, at least until we return from the States.
• To have a good ol' boys time.  Elijah and I watched movies, drove all over Dakar, visited African used parts places (it is just great climbing up a small mountain of used tires or a pyramid of rear axles), and generally had a good time.  
• A side bonus was we got to visit with several of our missionary friends there in Dakar.
