Settling in...

Our "sleeping house"

We are settling into our new home.  What do we hope to accomplish here? 

Using our resources to help our neighbor.  Spiritually and Physically.

 

Spiritually, we want to do what we started out to do in 2006: see a church started amongst the Jalunga people.  This involves teaching the Bible, teaching people to read (so they can read the Bible themselves), and modeling how a Christian lives in their context. 

Physically, we are trying to use the resources we have at our disposal (knowledge, connections, finances) to help our neighbors.  We intend to do this by providing opportunities for them to learn new and different ways to improve their life.  Being that the majority of Jalunga are farmers, a lot of our efforts will be agricultural. We have done this in the past but we hope that this move will provide us more and better opportunities to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.
