New Friends

Masters on their recent travels
Ashley in town
This week we came out to town to meet the Masters family and their coworker Ashley Freytag.  The Masters and Ashley are sent out by the Fellowship of Evangelical churches (http://www.fecministries.org/) and are planning on working with the Jalunga people of Mali.  They arrived in Mali last September and began their French study.  Their mission director (Steve Nelson) came from the States to see them and to go with them to visit some Jalunga villages in Mali.  Just before Steve left the States last week, the US and Canadian embassies issued warnings for all their citizens, strongly urging them to leave Mali if at all possible.  With this in mind, the purpose of Steve’s trip changed from accompanying the Masters and Ashley on the village visits to helping them evacuate Mali and get setup in Senegal to continue their French study.  We got news of the change of plans after arriving in town to meet them.  So our visit was delayed a couple days while the Masters and Ashley packed up their belongings and prepared to come out.  They arrived in town on Wednesday.  Yesterday (Thursday) we had a great visit.  We are very excited to see them come to help in ministering among the Jalunga.  Please pray for them as they make adjustments to their new home here in Senegal and as they make preparations to work among the Jalunga.
